Solar panels need attention

The efficiency of solar panels decays due to diferent types of defects:

  • Soiling
  • Diode defects
  • Cracks in the protective glas sheet.

In the video a system for automatic detection of defaults in solar panels is demonstrated.
I the EU alone, in the order of 500 million panels are installed. They represent in the order of  150 GWp of installed power.
It is a daunting task to keep these at peak performance. We think that the propsed system will play an important role in achieving this goal.
